Jackie Burns
Author and Founder of The Holy Hideaway
Hi, I’m Jackie, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a wife and mom living in the Midwest, but most importantly, I’m a child of God. My life hasn’t always been peaceful or put-together, and honestly, it still isn’t all the time. I grew up in a broken home and carried that pain into my teenage years, looking for belonging and trying to fill the emptiness in all the wrong places. Over time, I drifted far from God, chasing things that only led me deeper into darkness and away from His presence. There were many times I didn’t know how or if I would make it through.
Only by His mercy was I rescued from that darkness and brought back into His glorious light. He saved my life, redeemed my story, and everything I am now, I owe to Him.
Why I Started The Holy Hideaway
After everything God carried me through, my heart began to ache for others who are still hurting and searching for hope. Children are growing up confused about what’s true, adults are feeling lost and broken, and believers are longing for a deeper connection with God.
That’s how The Holy Hideaway began. It was born from a desire to create a quiet, grace-filled space where people can explore faith privately, without pressure or judgment. My prayer is that everyone reached through this work will find encouragement, discover truth, and be renewed by the steady and unmatched peace of God’s presence.
